You know, the prescience exhibited in the comments of that interview lets you go ahead and know that music is like anything else. Business, bullshit. Business and bullshit. It depresses me. I also think it’s funny that, while the Puppets (well, the bassist at least) had some fairly disparaging shit to say about Nirvana being carefully constructed and whatnot, they went ahead with the Unplugged in New York thing anyway, with most of Nirvana’s songs being Meat Puppets covers, and then the Puppets actually went out and played with them towards the end. I don’t know how the fuck to interpret that.I feel pretty fucking bereaved about the direction of the 90′s and the music within. All that inertia just hit a wall.

Hey great blog, I have been a meat puppets fan since I heard They Might Be Giants cover Whirlpool on their Sunshine EP. Tracked down Forbidden Places soon-after, then slowly gathered the rest. Great to see all this info and old material being posted here!
I happened to download some old Howard Stern radio shows from the early ’90s a while ago, and while listening to one today, I heard Stern talking about the Meat Puppets! I made a clip of it and put it on 4shared:
